Settle it like the professionals.
Name your two teams, pick the sides and set the matches for each round. Every match is scored as it is played, and the scoreboard shows the points won and how many each side needs to win.
FourballsPairs, everyone plays their own ball, best score counts.
FoursomesPairs share one ball and take alternate shots.
SinglesOne on one.
Teams are colour-coded across the trip, and each match shows who is up and by how many.
Order of merit and leaderboards
The table writes itself.
As scores go in, Stableford points are worked out for you, with each golfer's handicap shots taken into account.
- Season or trip table. A running total for each golfer, with rounds played and their best score.
- Who leads, round by round. Each round in the schedule shows the current leader and their points.
- Everyone scores on their phone. Hole by hole, with yardage, par and stroke index on the screen.
Getting started
From “we should do a trip” to a full squad.
- Set it up. Choose a society, trip or one-off event, add the dates and where you are going.
- Share the code. Send the invite link to your group chat. Anyone with it can join.
- Build the schedule. Add each round and, if you are running a Ryder Cup, pick the teams.
- Play and score. Everyone scores on their phone and the leaderboard updates itself.
The organiser needs BuddyGolf Plus. Everyone you invite joins free.
Plus is £3.99 a month or £29.99 a year, with a 14-day free trial, and also gives unlimited joins and puts you at the top of a host's request list. Hosting a round is always free.

When does BuddyGolf launch?
In March 2027, ahead of the spring season. Join the launch list and you will get an email on launch day, plus early access.
Is it free?
Yes. Finding games, joining rounds within the free allowance and hosting are free, and hosting is always free and unlimited. BuddyGolf Plus is an optional subscription for unlimited joins, societies and trips, Ryder Cup mode and leaderboards.
Do I pay other golfers through the app?
Never. There are no payments between golfers. Green fees and event fees are shown for information and paid at the club on the day.
Where will it work first?
We are starting around Woking and across Surrey and the surrounding counties, growing club by club and society by society.
Do I need to be a member of a club?
No. BuddyGolf is for club members, golfers without a home club and anyone who wants to find a game.
What do you do with my email?
We use it only to tell you about BuddyGolf: launch day and the odd update before it. We never share or sell it, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
